Rooney Suffers Setback

What’s worse than training for six weeks for your next fight against an orthodoxed fighter and then on fight night you step in the ring and he is a southpaw. That’s what happened when Kevin Rooney Jr stepped in the ring on Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City against Daniel Lugo. For two rounds Roony tried to figure out Lugo but not much worked and he had a very hard time landing punches. By the third round Rooney looked to be on the right track by landing some body shots and backing Lugo up. The fourth round was all Rooney but by the judges score cards, it was too little too late. The three judges scored the fight 39-37 for Lugo and Rooney suffered his first loss.
