On To Glens Falls
In one of the most anticipated games of the year, Newburgh defeated Mount Vernon by a score of 62-53. Prior to the boys game, the Kingston girls played Mount Vernon as well but with a different outcome. Kingston suffered a 66-61 loss to Mount Vernon in the state Class AA quarterfinals at Christl Arena at West Point, putting an end to Racheal Coffey’s fantastic high school career. If Newburgh wins, it will play March 21 at 2:45 p.m. for the Championship. Three other section 9 teams will also be in Glens Falls for their chance to become section champions.
